Dennis Padilla Calls Out Bashers for Crossing the Line Against Robin Padilla
DENNIS PADILLA – As criticism against Robin Padilla continues to flood social media, Dennis Padilla is urging people to show more respect despite political differences.
Veteran actor and comedian Dennis Padilla has spoken out in defense of Senator Robin Padilla, expressing disappointment over the harsh criticisms and insulting remarks directed at his longtime friend amid the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Robin, who serves as one of the senator-judges in the impeachment proceedings, has recently become the subject of intense public scrutiny. Many social media users have criticized his statements during the hearings, with some questioning his performance and competence, while others have resorted to personal attacks.

During a recent interview with members of the entertainment press, Dennis was asked about the growing wave of criticism against Robin, who has been known as a strong ally and defender of the Duterte family. The comedian admitted that he has seen numerous negative comments online and believes that many of them have gone too far.
“Hindi, hindi maganda. Tsaka I’m sure, ‘yung mga comments ng mga taong ‘yan, tandaan n’yo ‘to, babalik sa inyo ‘yan. God will prove you wrong,” he said.
Dennis emphasized that while people are entitled to express their opinions, there should still be respect in public discourse. He particularly took issue with those calling Robin “bobo,” saying the term is deeply offensive and unnecessary.
“Nasasaktan ako roon sa sinasabi na bobo si Robin. I hate that word. Kumbaga, wala namang bobong tao.
“Tsaka, very insulting. Sa mga basher, huwag naman tayong umabot sa ganu’n kababa. Itaas naman natin ang quality ng pagsasalita natin.
“May pinag-aralan naman ang mga Pilipino,” Dennis’s defense of the senator.

According to Dennis, criticism should never cross the line into degrading or humiliating another person. He believes Filipinos are capable of engaging in meaningful discussions without resorting to hurtful language, regardless of political differences or personal opinions.
The actor also pointed out that despite the backlash Robin continues to receive online, the senator still enjoys significant public support. Dennis cited Robin’s strong performance in preference surveys for the 2028 national elections as proof that many Filipinos continue to trust and support him.
For Dennis, online criticism may come and go, but respect and decency should always remain part of public conversations. He hopes that even those who disagree with Robin’s views will choose to express their opinions more respectfully and constructively rather than relying on insults and personal attacks.
