World Banks Issues Latest Income Assessment on Philippines, Other Nations
PHILIPPINES – The country made it into the list of upper middle income countries of the World Bank based on the estimates of the gross national income per capita of the country in 2025.
Massive corruption issues are surrounding the Philippine government for several months now. Several government officials were tagged in the supposed flood control corruption that did not only pocketed millions but billions of money.
The said massive corruption issues in the country triggered the Trillion Peso March which was held twice in the country. Not only the House of Representatives but as well as the Senate probed the flood control scam. The Ombudsman and the Department of Justice also conducted investigations.
The flood control issue in the Philippines is still not finish when the tension between the United States and Iran caused a series of massive oil price hikes in the country. Not only the pump prices rose but as well as several other products.
Amid the challenges that the Filipino people are facing, Pres. Bongbong Marcos vowed on making food available and affordable for the people. He stressed that while the government cannot control the oil prices, it can do something in controlling the food costs.
Malacañang has also repeatedly claimed that Marcos Jr. is supposedly focused in his work — such claim came amid the corruption allegations against the President. He has also repeatedly claimed that the foreigners highly respect the Filipinos.
Recently, World Bank released its list of Upper Middle Income Countries. Based on News5, the Philippines made it to the list. The latest income assessment of the World Bank was released on July 1st.
Based on the post, the Philippines recorded an estimate of 4,850 USD ang gross national income per capita. It is way above the 4,636 USD threshold set for UMIC. Here are the other nations that made it as an upper middle income country:
