Ogie Diaz praised Tito Sotto
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz highlighted the “comedian lang” comment on Senator Tito Sotto, which is intended to degrade him.
Ogie is one of the showbiz personalities who is taking part in calling out corruption and issues in the government. He uses his social media platform to share his thoughts, to criticize certain politicians or personalities, and to give praise to those who deserve it.
In a recent Facebook post, Ogie shared a post from copywriter and creative director Gerry Cacanindin about a recent incident that happened during a Senate plenary session, wherein the Minority Bloc walked out.

This came after Sen. Rodante Marcoleta proposed to amend the rules, allowing remote attendance for Senators, which would still allow them to vote and attend the sessions.
When the Minority Bloc senators walked out, Sen. Tito Sotto was the one left behind, and he said “The Senate had no quorum and immediately called for a motion to adjourn.”
Cacanindin pointed out that Marcoleta, a lawyer, asked Sotto how the Senate quorum is determined. Presiding chair, Sen. Loren Legarda, “couldn’t do anything and had to concede.”
It was after Sotto said that “the motion to adjourn is not debatable.” Then, the former Senate President took a swipe at Marcoleta by saying, “Akala ko ba magaling sa rules?”
“The session was adjourned. The legal gladiator of the DDS that was Marcoleta was brutally schooled by someone whom the DDS belittle by calling him the “comedian”, a label Senator Tito Sotto should embrace as a nom-de-guerre from here on,” Cacanindin pointed out.

It is known to many that before entering politics, Sotto was known as part of the iconic comedy trio, TVJ.
Canananindin also said that The Watchman novel character The Comedian whose real name is Edward Blake, Tito Sotto was able to see the darkness in everyone else.
“He saw through the darkness and the machinations and decided to ruthlessly end Marcoleta while having the last laugh,” he said.
In the post that Ogie Diaz shared, he praised the former Senate President. Mga abogado, kinabog ng sinasabi nilang “comedian lang.” Actually, mas nakakatawa yung mga nagpipilit,” the talent manager-vlogger said.
