A male netizen expressed disappointment with a bank due to the large charge applied to his account for allegedly failing to maintain the required balance.
Recently, Jefferson RTulabot, a Facebook user, shared his disappointing experience with the bank because of the large charge he received. The post quickly went viral and drew reactions from the online community.
Jefferson shared his frustration online after being charged a large fee by a bank for not maintaining the required balance in his account.
The man explained that he opened an account and deposited P500 to meet the bank’s maintaining balance requirement. He believed everything was in order and left the money untouched to follow the rules.
A few days later, he added another P200 to his account. However, he noticed that the amount did not appear in his balance. Confused, he went back to the bank to ask about the charge.
According to the bank staff, the P200 he deposited was used to cover a charge from the previous month because his account had fallen below the required maintaining balance. The explanation surprised him, as he believed he had enough funds in his account and did not expect such a large deduction.
He expressed disappointment, saying the charge felt too high for a simple balance issue. He also shared that the details of these fees were not clearly explained to him when he opened the account. Because of this, he felt that his effort to save money went to waste.
The experience led him to consider opening an account with a different bank. He also advised others to be more careful when choosing where to open an account, reminding them to fully understand the rules, fees, and requirements.
