Actor-politician Robin Padilla is considering retiring abroad.
If the system in the government doesn’t change, Senator Robin Padilla considers retiring abroad to focus on his wife and their children.
Senator Robin Padilla is currently one of the sitting senators in the Philippines, and amid the crisis that directly affects the people, it appears he is also not as confident in the current system of the government.
During his appearance on the April 24 episode of Bilyonaryo New Channel’s “Politiko Talks,” he was asked about selling his family’s Museo de Padilla in Quezon City. This is the part where he opened up about plans to settle and retire abroad with his wife, Mariel Padilla.
According to him, this plan came into his head in 2010. When they were still unmarried, they had visited the Netherlands and Germany. Looking toward the 2028 elections, Robin emphasized that if the Philippines fails to reform its current system of government, one he no longer believes in, he would prefer to focus on spending time with his family.
He initially wanted to retire in Brunei. He already did an ocular there with Mariel, but found the neighboring country too hot for his liking. He also considered Iceland; however, it would be too expensive, which is why Robin thought about putting up the Museo de Padilla for sale.
Padilla explained that he did not put the property on sale to fund the 2028 elections. He expressed that he doesn’t need it anymore because he easily topped the last elections without any expenses.
Robin said he was pleased to see many interested bidders but noted that he prefers the purchase to be made in dollars.
“Wala akong tiwala sa pesos, mamaya kung saan pa galing ‘yan… Okay lang basta huwag galing sa flood control [projects],” Robin quipped to end.
