E-Trike Carrying Emergency Passenger Raises Public Reflection on Compassion and System Gaps
An e-trike driver carrying an emergency passenger went viral on social media and touched many hearts online.
Recently, Bheng Kinse, a Facebook user, shared a photo of an e-trike driver carrying an emergency passenger. The post elicited various reactions from the internet users.
While on her way home from buying groceries, she noticed an e-trike entering the Bonifacio Tunnel in Manila. The tunnel is known to be off-limits to e-bikes and e-trikes, which immediately caused frustration among other drivers.

Some vehicles honked loudly, and others showed clear signs of anger over the rule being broken.
At first, it seemed like an ordinary traffic violation. But as she looked closer, she saw something more serious. Inside the e-trike was an elderly man holding a passenger who appeared weak and unresponsive. This made her realize that the situation might be a medical emergency.
Instead of getting upset, she chose to follow the e-trike and help clear the way. She made sure other vehicles could pass safely while allowing the e-trike to move forward. It was later observed that the vehicle was heading toward VRP Hospital, which confirmed the urgent situation.
Many expressed concern about the lack of fast and accessible emergency services in some areas. Others pointed out that situations like this push people to take risks, even breaking rules, just to save a life.
Here is the full post:
“Kanina galing grocery otw back. I saw this e-trike took the boni tunnel. Bawal ebikes dun.
Under the tunnel, cars were honking at them. Paulit-ulit. So i got curious. I tailed the e-trike.
I saw an elderly man hugging a grown kid. The kid is barely moving. Sabi ko emergency ito. So i stayed on their tail. Waving the cars to overtake.
One car even yelled at them “bawal ebike dito!”
I tailed them until they turned right. Probably going to VRP hospital.
My brothers and sisters. Before we get angry, analyze first.
If you’re to choose between right and kindness… Choose kindness everytime.”
