Authorities Believe Businessman Atong Ang Still in PH
ATONG ANG – The fugitive business tycoon was allegedly “almost caught” by the authorities according to the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Charlie “Atong” Ang is one of the high-profile personalities in the Philippines with a pending arrest warrant issued by the court. Aside from him, 17 other individuals are also subject of an arrest warrant.

Ang is accused of alleged involvement in the case of the missing cockfighting enthusiasts. Until now, the families of the missing sabungeros are calling for justice over the unexplained disappearance of their loved ones.
Some alleged former personnel of Atong Ang testified against him. The business tycoon previously denied the allegations against him.

Currently, only Ang remains at large. All the other 17 individuals who are also accused in the case of the missing sabungeros were arrested. They are the following:

The Department of Interior and Local Government or DILG initially offered a P10-million reward for information that could lead to Atong Ang’s arrest. However. despite the multi-million reward, the businessman giant remains not found.

The authorities clanged to the belief that Ang is still in the Philippines with the absence of travel records as previously cited by the Bureau of Immigration. Meanwhile, they also do not neglect the possibility that a backdoor exit might have happened.
Interior Sec. Jonvic Remulla previously claimed that he is supposedly considering to increase the reward money versus Atong Ang. According to him, it would be an easy turn over of the reward money to anyone who can give the information that could lead to the arrest of Ang.
“Malapit na. Kung ako mapikon talagang dadagdagan ko na ‘yan,” Remulla expressed.

Recently, DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla claimed that Atong Ang was allegedly almost caught by the authorities. Based on a report on GMA News, the Interior Secretary said the law enforcement forces launched an operation at the hideout of the wanted businessman on Thursday.
“Hindi namin naabutan. But meron kaming actual eyeball report na nakita siya rito,” the DILG Chief said.
Based on the report, Interior Sec. Jonvic Remulla stressed that the recent information suggests that Atong Ang is still in the country. It came after intelligence reports previously claimed that the wanted businessman was supposedly in Vietnam.
Previously, there were also claimed about the possibility that Atong Ang is either in Cambodia or Thailand. It is based on the claim of “whistleblower” Julie Patidongan that the online sabong supposedly operates in Cambodia.
