Bong Revilla encountered this problem inside the jail
Actor and former Senator Bong Revilla complained about the broken toilet flush inside his prison cell.
Revilla is currently detained at the Quezon City Jail following the arrest warrant issued against him regarding his alleged involvement in the anomalous flood control projects.
Previously, speculations surfaced that the actor-politician was receiving special treatment inside the detention center. A source claimed that Revilla was actually staying inside an air-conditioned room and not in a regular cell.
However, a friend who visited him inside the jail denied the allegation of special treatment. It was said that even Revilla was cleaning the bathroom just like other detainees.
Speaking of bathroom, in a recent interview, based on the article in the article in Abante News, Gen. Baby Noel Montalvo, regional director of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), shared that Bong Revilla complained about a broken toilet flush inside the jail, during his first days in prison was also immediately addressed.
Montalvo said this was due to the long period of disuse of the said area. “Na-address agad. Kasi nga po ‘yung mga area na ‘yun hindi nagagamit before… siguro po nag-clogged, naayos naman kaagad,” the BJMP official said.
Montalvo also shared that he personally visited Revilla two weeks ago for a regular inspection. He assured that the former senator is doing well.
Although Bong Revilla is reportedly isolated from other officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who are also implicated in the flood control scandal, he still has an adjacent cell with other inmates.
“Okay naman po, walang problema sa kanya. Naka-separate lang siya doon sa ibang DPWH. Although may mga kasama rin siyang PDL doon sa katabing selda niya. ‘Yung kanyang selda is the same with lahat po,” Montalvo stressed.
