Recently, Geneva Cruz, Angelica Yulo, Wilbert Tolentino, and Sachzna Laparan all completed a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration at Philippine Christian University.
The group graduated on March 13, 2026, under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program, a system that allows individuals to earn a degree based on prior learning and work experience.
While this program is designed to help working individuals finish their studies, some netizens raised questions about the situation.
Many online users expressed doubt about whether the four went through the usual academic process. Some pointed out that they had never seen these personalities attend classes or participate in school activities.
Others found it unusual that they all took the same course and graduated at the same time, leading to suspicions about how the program was carried out.
The issue quickly gained traction, with some calling on the Commission on Higher Education to look into the matter. A few commenters even labeled the school as a so-called diploma mill, suggesting that degrees might be earned too easily. However, these claims remain unproven and are based only on online opinions.
Amid the growing criticism, Sachzna Laparan spoke up to defend herself. She explained that she worked hard for her degree and did not simply obtain it without effort. She also shared that the university offers programs that support busy individuals who still want to complete their education.
