Several Students Rushed to Hospital After Butane Stove Explodes at Samgyupsal Restaurant in Dagupan City

Several students were injured after a butane stove suddenly exploded inside a samgyupsal restaurant in Dagupan City. 

On Thursday afternoon, March 12, 2026, the students were reportedly eating together when the incident happened. The supposed happy gathering quickly turned into a frightening moment after the stove at their table suddenly burst. 

Initial information said the explosion happened at around 2:00 in the afternoon. The group of students gathered at the restaurant to celebrate a special occasion. While they were preparing their food using the table grill, the butane stove suddenly exploded.

Witnesses said the loud blast startled everyone inside the restaurant. Some students who were seated near the table where the stove exploded suffered cuts and burns from the impact. People inside the establishment immediately rushed to help the injured. 

Reports said around 13 to 15 students were hurt during the incident. Some of them had visible wounds, while others felt pain from the sudden blast. Restaurant staff and bystanders quickly gave first aid to the injured students to help ease their condition. 

After receiving initial treatment, the injured students were taken to the hospital so doctors could properly check their injuries. Authorities are still monitoring their condition while medical teams continue to provide care. 

The sudden explosion caused panic among other customers who were dining at the restaurant. Many quickly moved away from their tables as staff members tried to calm the situation and assist those who needed help. 

Local police have already started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion. Investigators are checking the butane stove and the surrounding area to find out what may have triggered the blast. 

Authorities are also gathering statements from witnesses and restaurant staff as part of their ongoing inquiry. The complete condition of the injured students has not yet been fully released as of this writing while the investigation continues.
