Marites is a constant figure in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” played by Cherry Pie Picache, and here’s what she said about her experience.
The top-rated series, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, will air its final episode on March 13, 2026. This was confirmed by Coco Martin after it had been aired for more than three years. As the lead actor and one of the directors, he felt like the story of Tanggol had come to an end, and even from the start, he always knew they couldn’t surpass the record of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
Recently, in an interview, Cherry Pie Picache recalled her time doing the series as the actress playing Marites, the mother of Tanggol.
According to her, Marites had an unforgettable journey in the three-year run of the series. Her role went through a lot, and one of the storylines that particularly stood out for her was an unexpected and daring twist involving her character.
She also noted the scenes that depicted the marital conflicts that really happen in real life. The actress expressed, as she felt that these scenes particularly felt authentic, “Yung away ng mag-asawa, napaka-natural. It was fun, it was painful.”
And beyond the storylines, one of the things she will miss the most is the close bond that everyone was able to build with each other. They have all worked together closely for more than three years, and it was this camaraderie that actually helped create a safe and collaborative environment for everyone.
“Kabisadong-kabisado mo na ‘yung mga katrabaho mo. Alam mong safe ka, it’s a safe working place,” she said, and added, “Yung mga tawanan, kainan, at pagtutulungan para mapaganda ‘yung characters at ‘yung mga eksena.”
As the series approaches its finale, Picache admitted that saying goodbye to the show has been an emotional experience for her. Working on the series for three years has been meaningful, and because of the length of its run, the project has become a significant chapter in her career.
