The political affiliation of Bong Suntay became a topic after his controversial statement
Quezon City Representative Bong Suntay denied the comments that he is a DDS or a Diehard Duterte Supporter.
Suntay became a trending topic on social media and on news sites because he remarked on Kapamilya actress Anne Curtis. He used the actress as part of his analogy to defend his point in criticizing the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.
The Vice President was accused of political destabilization, sedition, and insurrection. Suntay stressed that if there is no concrete action, one should not be held accountable.

He cited that just like what he felt seeing Anne Curtis at Shangri-La. The congressman said that it woke a desire in him; however, he stressed that it was just what he imagined, and he did not do anything or did an action.
Because of this, Suntay received bashing. He was criticized by Anne’s loved ones and friends in the entertainment industry. His past issues also resurfaced online because he remarked on the actress.

Among the comments that the congressman received was that he is a DDS, which he denied, based on the article in Abante.
“Dito nga sa hearing, may conclusion. Dahil nilalabas ko ‘yung aking mga observations tungkol du’n sa impeachment complaint, sabihin nila, ‘Hindi, DDS yan’,” Rep. Bong Suntay said.
The lawmaker also denied the accusation that he was just trying to divert the issue. “Hindi. I’m not saying that… They jump to that conclusion,” he said.
When directly asked if he is a diehard Duterte supporter, he said, “No. You’ve known me for the longest time. I stand by my principles e.” Then, he stressed that he opposed the anti-terrorism bill during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
