Thief Gets Frustrated After Stealing a Wallet w/ No Money Inside at Sari-Sari Store in Iloilo
A thief was left disappointed after stealing a wallet from a sari-sari store in Guimbal, Iloilo, to find out later that it did not contain any money.
On Monday, March 2, 2026, a man was caught on CCTV after stealing a wallet with no money inside.
In the CCTV footage, the man can be seen looking around as he entered the small store. He appeared to be checking his surroundings carefully, as if making sure no one was watching him. After a few moments, he bent down, quickly grabbed a wallet, and then left the store.
It was reported that the store attendant was not around at that time, which gave the suspect the chance to take the wallet without being noticed right away.
However, the theft did not turn out the way he might have expected. According to the owner of the wallet, there was no cash inside. The wallet only contained receipts and other small papers. The thief ended up taking something that had no real value in terms of money.
The incident has since been reported to the authorities. As of this writing, the wallet owner is still unsure whether to file a formal complaint against the man. Even though no money was lost, the act of stealing remains a serious matter.
Some found it ironic that the thief took the risk for nothing, while others pointed out that the situation could have been worse if the wallet had contained important items or cash.
