Police Arrest Suspect Wanted for Murder Case in Calamba City
A 23-year-old suspect wanted for murder case was arrested after trying to hide in the ceiling of his home in Barangay Sampiruhan, Calamba City.
On the night of February 23, 2026, police operatives from the Calamba Component City Police Station carried out the operation after a warrant of arrest was issued by the court earlier that day.
Authorities were confident that the suspect was inside the house because he had already been under close watch even before the warrant came out.

When officers knocked on the door, the suspect’s mother answered. She reportedly told them that her son was not home and had already left. However, the operatives noticed something unusual.
There was a ladder placed at the side of the house and a cigarette butt that was still warm. They also saw a small opening in the ceiling.
Putting the clues together, the officers decided to check the ceiling. There, they found the suspect hiding. They calmly convinced him to come down and assured him that he would not be harmed.
The suspect cooperated and safely climbed down. He was then informed of his rights and brought to the police station.
The case stems from an incident that happened on the early morning of January 9, 2026 in Barangay Siete. CCTV footage reportedly showed the suspect entering the house of his former partner. Inside, he found her and her current live-in partner.
The victim was allegedly punched at least 20 times and kicked twice in the head, leading to his death.
The suspect is considered the number one most wanted person at the regional level in CALABARZON. He is now detained at the police custodial facility and is facing a murder charge with no bail recommended.
