What happened during Alvin Aragon’s Fast Talk guesting? Boy Abunda shares.
After Boy Abunda reacted to the controversial statements of Alvin Aragon, he shared what happened when the latter graced his show.
King Of Talk Boy Abunda previously addressed the claims of Alvin Aragon against the LGBTQIA+ community. According to the host, Aragon crossed a line when he started dragging and mentioning the names of celebrity parents who openly accepted their LGBTQIA+ children.

While he understands where Aragon is coming from because of his faith, he believes Aragon “overstretched” and was wrong to insist that they were right in rejecting the idea and in placing themselves above parents and others who choose to embrace their children with love, dignity, kindness, and compassion.
“Alvin, you cannot impose your faith. You cannot impose your parenting style. You cannot impose yourself on us. ‘Yun sa akin ang sobra dahil wala kang pakialam at walang puwedeng humusga sa amin. Walang puwedeng magsabi sa amin, not you, not anyone. Kung iba ang iyong paniniwala, iba ang iyong faith, sobra ang paggalang ko sa’yo,” the King of Talk added firmly.
During the guesting of Aragon in his Kapuso show, he shared that he intentionally steered the conversation away from religion and LGBTQIA+ topics to avoid tension. Despite his attempt, there was a point when they reacted to Sofia joining the drag.
He shared, “I decided to just make it fun. They are coming from a space of faith. I did not ask about Sofia. I wanted peace. Hindi dahil takot ako. I wanted fun… I did not want to engage in a debate related to faith. Walang panalo doon. I especially did not want to engage in faith surrounding LGBT hindi tayo magkikita.”
Abunda believes that his show is not the appropriate platform for this argument.
He also remains open to engaging in an open conversation with Aragon. However, he’d just be willing to do it behind the camera, not for the show.
