Pasaway Motorist Faces P800k Fine Over Multiple Traffic Violations Under NCAP
A pasaway motorist is now facing a total fine of P800,000 after committing several traffic violations under the No Contact Apprehension Policy implemented by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
MMDA General Manager Nicolas Torre III explained that the driver had piled up many violations over time. Because of these repeated offenses, the unpaid penalties reached a huge amount.
According to the report, the motorist initially wrote to the MMDA to request a reduction of the fines. At that time, the record showed 29 violations. However, when authorities reviewed the system again, they discovered that the number had increased to 36.

It meant the driver committed seven more violations even after asking for consideration. Officials said the violations were captured through closed-circuit television cameras installed in different parts of Metro Manila.
These cameras are part of the NCAP system, which records traffic offenses without the need for physical apprehension on the road. The MMDA clarified that the violations are properly recorded in their system and are supported by video evidence.
Because of the unpaid fines, the motorist may face more problems. The Land Transportation Office will not allow the renewal of the vehicle’s registration until the penalties are settled. Vehicles with unsettled violations are automatically flagged in the system.

Authorities are still studying whether they will grant the driver’s request to lower the fines. However, they also pointed out that repeated violations show a failure to follow traffic rules.
The incident reminds all motorists to drive responsibly and obey traffic laws to avoid heavy penalties and future inconvenience.
