After VP Sara Duterte Confirms 2028 Presidential Run, Malacañang Claims Pres. Marcos Won’t Be Affected
Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro spoke on President Bongbong Marcos over the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in 2028.
Amid the calls of her supporters for her to take the presidential race in the next national polls, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently confirmed that she is running for president in 2028. She admitted that she has long questioned the weight of the obligations of being the country’s leader but she came to a point of realizing that her life is not only hers.

The Vice President also claimed that she allegedly saw how Pres. Bongbong Marcos supposedly did not stayed true to his promises. According to her, when she left his Cabinet, it was really her intention although she knew that it could allegedly lead to her impeachment.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she is not worried about her name being tarnished but she was concerned about the safety of her children. When she announced her presidential bid for 2028, the Vice President also once again apologized to the Filipinos for endorsing Pres. Bongbong Marcos in 2022.

Marcos Jr. and Duterte formed a strong tandem in 2022. However, the Filipino people noticed that they had a falling out when she left his Cabinet and also resigned as the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).
Amid the rift between the President and the Vice President, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was arrested and his custody was transferred to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands. Pres. Bongbong Marcos was heavily blamed over the arrest and the sending of his predecessor to the foreign court.

Following the announcement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, based on a report on GMA News, House justice panel chairperson Gerville Luistro expressed her hope that the declaration of the Vice President will not affect the votes of her colleagues in the impeachment raps against her. The fourth impeachment complaint was filed against Duterte shortly after she announced her presidential run in 2028.
“I hope it will not affect. Kasi sana ma-realize ng mga members ng justice committee that this is a constitutional duty that we really have to face,” Luistro said.
As for Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro assured that the Chief Executive is not affected by the remarks of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to the Palace official, the government will allegedly not move if Marcos Jr. will only think about the announcement of the Vice President.

Atty. Claire Castro further claimed that the focus of Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly remains in the pursuit of growing the economy of the Philippines. According to her, the President is also focusing in addressing the problem about flooding in the country.
Amid the speculations, Senator Bam Aquino broke his silence on his rumored tandem with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in 2028.
