Sara Duterte, Bam Aquino Tandem in 2028 Elections?
BAM AQUINO – The Senator broke his silence on the rumors that he will allegedly be the running mate of Vice President Sara Duterte in the 2028 Elections.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte declared that she will run for president in the 2028 Elections. According to the Vice President, it took her 47 years to realize that her life was not meant to be just hers. She admitted that there were times when she questioned the weight of the responsibilities brought by the position.
Duterte also chided Marcos Jr. saying she allegedly saw the unfaithfulness of the President towards the promises he made. According to her, she really intended to leave the Marcos Jr. Cabinet even if she knew that it will result to her impeachment.
The Vice President apologized to the Filipino people for helping in the election of Marcos Jr. as the country’s president. According to her, she was never afraid of the damage in her reputation but she feared for the safety of her children.
“Ako si Sara Duterte, tatakbo bilang pangulo ng Pilipinas,” the Vice President said.
Following the announcement of the Vice President, speculations that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s running mate would allegedly be Sen. Bam Aquino circulated on social media. It gathered different reactions as the Senator is from the opposition.
Sen. Bam Aquino was the campaign manager of former Vice President and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan during the 2022 Elections. He recently met with the members of the opposition including Robredo and Pangilinan.
Amid the speculations that the opposition are possibly gearing up for the 2028 Elections, Sen. Bam Aquino claimed that they met to catch up. Mamamayang Liberal Party-list Representative Leila de Lima admitted that she hopes that Naga Mayor Leni Robredo will run for president in 2028.
Recently, amid the rumored Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Sen. Bam Aquino tandem, the Senator broke his silence and put an end to the rumors. Through a post on social media, he announced that he will not run for vice president in 2028.
“I will not run for Vice President in 2028,” Aquino stated.
On the part of Duterte-ally Sen. Robin Padilla, he’s pushing for the Sara Duterte-Imee Marcos tandem in 2028.
