Xyriel Manabat has a new movie
Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat talked about her first movie lead role with actor Kyle Echarri.
Xyriel started young in the entertainment industry. She was known as a child star who brought her audience to tears with her dramatic scenes in teleseryes. However, the actress took a break for a while in the entertainment industry to finish her studies.
When she came back, her home network, ABS-CBN, once again showcased her acting caliber.

It was recently announced that Xyriel Manabat will star in a Netflix movie with Kyle Echarri. During the press conference, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, the actress could not help but become emotional about this new opportunity.
She happily promoted her movie, 18th Rose, which will start streaming on Netflix on April 9. This is very special for her since it is her first lead role in a movie.
In her past projects, she has been playing supporting roles. However, viewers would always notice her acting caliber. For her, this new movie project is a dream come true and an answered prayer. “I’m very grateful to those who have trusted me,” she said.
The 18th Rose is set in the early 2000s in the province of Romblon, and it is about two teenagers who connect through music as they chase their dreams. Xyriel’s character is Rose, while her leading man, Kyle, portrayed the character of Jordan.
Manabat stars in the movie alongside Kyle Echarri, one of her close friends in the industry, respectively portraying the characters of Rose and Jordan.
Xyriel shared what it was like filming with Kyle, who has been her friend for a long time now.

“Kyle and I have known each other for a very long time. We’ve been friends since 2015, 2016. The first few days [of filming] we’re just joking around. We even went to a chemistry workshop but ended up laughing the whole day,” she said.
The actress also said that the friendship of their characters in the movie somehow has a similarity to their friendship in real life.
Director Dolly Dulu called Xyriel Manabat and Kyle Echarri an “unlikely pair.” However, this description worked to their advantage.
“There were no expectations… so they were really just into the characters and just kind of developed in a way. They were friends already so it was easier for them to feel comfortable with each other,” Direk Dolly said.
