Cebu-Based Vlogger Rushed to Hospital After Being Punched on Stage During Concert
A Cebu-based vlogger was suddenly punched while standing on stage during a concert at the plaza of Barangay Iponan in Cagayan de Oro City.
On early Tuesday morning (February 10, 2026), the vlogger, known online as MarinongDj and whose real name is Jimbo Yurongo, was invited by barangay officials to perform as part of their fiesta celebration.
The concert was already about to end, and he was simply taking photos with his supporters when the unexpected incident happened.
While still on stage, a man believed to be under the influence of alcohol suddenly punched the vlogger on the side of his neck. Videos taken by people in the crowd showed the vlogger quickly running away from the stage to protect himself.
At the same time, several people on stage rushed to stop the suspect, who was also hit and restrained during the commotion.
Barangay tanods later explained that they did not immediately notice the attack because of the large number of people on stage. Many were busy taking photos since the performance was already over and the vlogger was about to leave.
The suspect was first brought to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries before being taken to the Maharlika Detention Cell. The vlogger was also rushed to the hospital after feeling dizzy following the attack.
Barangay officials assured the public that the vlogger is now in stable condition. They said they are waiting to see if he will file charges against the suspect. The incident raised concerns about crowd control and safety during public events.
Later, the vlogger shared a post on social media showing him in a wheelchair, calling the incident an unfortunate accident. Many fans expressed concern and sent messages of support, hoping for his fast recovery and safer events in the future.
