3rd Impeachment Complaint vs. VP Sara Duterte Filed before the House
SARA DUTERTE – A group of priests, nuns, and lawyers filed the third impeachment complaint against the Vice President.
Previously, the House Secretary General confirmed that the two (2) impeachment complaints filed against Vice Pres. Duterte have already been transmitted to the office of House Speaker Bojie Dy. The Speaker is given 10 days to include the matter in the Order of Business since the receipt of the impeachment raps.
In the first impeachment rap against Duterte, the Vice President is accused of alleged betrayal of public trust and gross abuse of discretionary powers. The accusation of the Makabayan bloc against the Vice President stemmed from the alleged misuse of the P625-million confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education (DepEd).
On the same day, February 2, another impeachment rap was filed against Duterte. The complainants were the members of Tindig Pilipinas.The second impeachment complaint against the Vice President was endorsed by Mamamayang Liberal party-list Rep. Leila de Lima and Akbayan party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña.
In the second impeachment rap, Duterte is accused of alleged culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes. Recently, another impeachment complaint was filed against the Vice President.
Recently, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a group of priests, nuns, and lawyers filed the third impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. In the said impeachment rap, the Vice President is accused of alleged misuse of P612 million in confidential funds and supposedly corruption the education department when she was still its secretary.
Furthermore, the third impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also raised the allegations that she supposedly issued a threat for the death of Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his family.
“This is not political, we are not politicians,” Catholic priest Reverend Joselito Sarabia who is one of the complainants behind the third impeachmebt rap against Duterte said.
Furthermore, based on the report, Fr. Sarabia expressed their belief that there is allegedly a “moral concern” over the issues. Previously, following the junking of the 2 impeachment raps filed against him, Marcos Jr. was asked about his reaction to the impeachment complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
