DSWD Orders Closure of Care Facility in Laguna Owned by Vlogger

The Department of Social Welfare and Development has shut down an unlicensed care facility in Laguna owned by a vlogger.

Recently, the Facebook page of DSWD has ordered the closure of an unlicensed care facility located in Barangay Landayan, San Pedro, Laguna. The facility is reportedly owned by a vlogger and was shut down after authorities found that it was operating without the proper permits and registration.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, DSWD Standards Bureau led the operation with support from the City Social Welfare and Development Office of San Pedro and DSWD Field Office 4A CALABARZON.

Barangay officials and local police were also present during the inspection to make sure the process was orderly and transparent.

During the visit, authorities found a total of 12 individuals staying inside the facility. Among them were two minors. Due to concerns over their safety and well-being, six individuals, including the two minors, were immediately taken into the care of the DSWD.

The remaining individuals were also assessed and monitored as part of the agency’s intervention.

Medical checks were carried out by the City Health Office of San Pedro, focusing on basic health conditions such as vital signs. At the same time, social workers conducted interviews and profiling to better understand each person’s situation and needs.

The individuals taken into DSWD custody were assisted by licensed social workers throughout the process. They were formally turned over to receiving social workers to ensure that services would not be disrupted and that their needs would be addressed properly.

The DSWD also extended guidance to the vlogger behind the facility, explaining the steps and requirements needed to legally operate a care facility. It includes securing a Certificate of Registration and License to Operate.
