Store Owner Apprehended for Smoking Inside His Own Shop

Store Owner Apprehended for Smoking Inside His Own Shop Went Viral and Sparks Online Debate

A male store owner shared his frustration after he was allegedly apprehended for smoking inside his own shop.

Recently, Jojo Llarenas, a Facebook user, shared a video showing him being apprehended by a law enforcer for smoking inside his own store. The post quickly went viral and drew reactions online.

Llaneras posted a video online showing a law enforcer approaching him inside his shop. He explained that he had just woken up and opened his business when he was flagged for smoking.

According to him, he was not smoking outside or along the street but inside the shop that he owns and manages. Because of this, he felt the apprehension was unfair and unexpected.

Some people expressed sympathy, saying they would also be surprised if the same thing happened to them inside their own place of business. Others pointed out that many small business owners may not be fully aware of the rules when it comes to smoking inside commercial spaces.

Several netizens explained that even if a person owns the shop, smoking is still not allowed once the business is open to the public.

Stores are considered public places because customers are free to enter, and laws on smoking are meant to protect people from secondhand smoke. It means that a store owner can still be given a ticket for smoking inside, even within their own commercial space.
