Senator and action star Robin Padilla once again touched the hearts of netizens after sharing a deeply emotional message dedicated to his beloved mother, Eva Cariño. Known for his tough image on screen and firm stance in public service, Robin showed a softer side as he expressed how seeing his mother happy gives him strength and peace.
According to the senator, his exhaustion and worries fade whenever he sees his mother smiling and hears her laugh. Through a heartfelt post on his Facebook account, Robin shared a video of Mommy Eva along with a moving message that resonated with many followers.
“Wala nang hihigit pang ligaya para sa akin kundi ang makita ang aking ina na masaya,” Robin wrote in the opening of his message.
“Ang malaman na siya’y inaalagaan ng pamilya, minamahal, at hindi nag-iisa.
“At ang marinig ang kanyang tawa, ay sapat na upang mapawi ang pagod ng aking puso.
“Sa bawat ngiti niya, doon ko muling natatagpuan ang tunay na kahulugan ng tagumpay,” the senator added in his full message for Mommy Eva.
Robin’s post comes amid the family’s ongoing struggle with his mother’s health condition. The senator previously revealed to the public that Mommy Eva has dementia, a condition that has deeply affected her memory and emotional state. According to him, his mother often remembers only the painful parts of her life, which causes her to cry frequently.
“Iba po si Mama kaya masakit sa amin ngayon na nakikita namin yung mama namin na mahinang-mahina.
“Meron siyang dementia kasi. Minsan nakakalimutan niya kung sino siya. Nakakalimutan niya kung nasaan siya.
“Ang natatandaan niya, lahat ng masakit. Kanina lang, magmula kagabi hanggang kanina, iyak nang iyak yon. Walang tigil ng iyak kasi lahat ng natatandaan niya, masakit,” Robin shared.
To comfort his mother, the family turns to music that brings back happier memories.
“Kaya ang gagawin mo, tulad ng sinabi ni Mariel, kakantahan mo siya ng mga kanta na natatandaan niya.
“Halimbawa yung ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya,’ yun ang good memories nila ng tatay ko.
“Yun yung kapag kinanta mo, ngingiti siya. Yung ‘Dahil Sa Yo’, lahat ng kantang iyon good memories sa kanya.
“Mahirap kasi kapag nakita mo yung nanay mong matibay, matigas, tapos makikita mo siya na helpless,” Robin said during his interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda in October 2025.
