Jake Ejercito received negative reactions for his throwback photo
Actor Jake Ejercito made a clarification about his 2016 photo with the standee of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Jake is one of the celebrities who would share thoughts on social media regarding political and social issues. He is vocal about his political stand and the politicians he is supporting.
The actor was one of the supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo, one of the known critics of FPRRD.
Jake Ejercito previously received criticism because of his post about the late politician Juan Ponce Enrile, who died in November last year. The actor shared a photo with the late politician and recalled his fondest memory with him.
Many netizens bashed the actor for his post about the politician who was accused of corruption. Just recently, he was also criticized because of his throwback photo with the standee of FPPRD.
Jake joined the 2016-2026 challenge, in which people would share their photos from ten years ago. In the actor’s Facebook post, he included the photo that garnered negative reactions.
Based on the article in The Philippine Star, a netizen commented, “Ex DDS na balimbing para relevant kunoh.” Jake clarified that he did not vote for the former President. “To clarify, I didn’t campaign or vote for FPRRD,” he answered.
Back in 2016, the actor shared a post announcing that he voted for Grace Poe. “It was my 1st time to vote for prez and I don’t regret having chosen @SenGracePOE. So much respect for fighting the good fight till the end!” Jake Ejercito tweeted ten years ago.
Meanwhile, Jake Ejercito also included photos from his stint in the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga when he became part of the iconic Kalyeserye featuring the AlDub loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.
Some of his photos were from his modeling stints for magazines, travel photos, and those snaps with his daughter, Ellie.
