Finally, celebrities Barbie Imperial and Richard Gutierrez confirmed their relationship. To recall, Barbie and Richard officially dating was confirmed by Ogie Diaz in 2024. However, while the narrative remained unconfirmed, sightings of them in various circumstances fueled the rumors.
Last year, Gutierrez defended Imperial, saying, “Hindi siya third party, hindi nag-overlap. Kasi maraming mga tao, ‘yun nga, mga bashers na nagsasabi na siya ang dahilan. Wala siyang kinalaman.”
Recently, in an interview, the two finally set the record straight and confirmed that they are indeed together. In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, January 19, they went public with their relationship.
The actress stressed that they did not intentionally hide their relationship. It’s just that they have decided to keep things private about it.
“Can I just say that we weren’t hiding. We just chose to have a private relationship talaga [because] we know na ayaw namin ng… What people don’t know they can’t ruin,” she said.
The actor seconded and said that keeping it private was something that they had already agreed upon since the start of their relationship. That way, they are more relaxed, and they prefer to stay that way.
“I agree. From the beginning, gan’un talaga. We want to keep things private. Mas relaxed ‘yung ganun, mas gusto namin ‘yung ganun,” he said.
The pair have reportedly been in a relationship since 2024, after they were first spotted together at a gastropub. Despite the public sightings, Gutierrez emphasized that “what you see is what you get” when it comes to their growing romance.
