Randy Lawyer denies the allegations of Melanie Marquez.
The husband of Melanie Marquez, Adam “Randy” Lawyer, denied the allegations and accusations made against him.
In an interview, Melanie Marquez disclosed she is filing for divorce from her American husband of over two decades, Adam Lawyer. There were incidents that prompted her to come up with the decision, and in a previous article, Melanie alleged she was physically hurt by her husband.
“Natutulog ako, Tito Boy, magkatabi kami. ‘Tapos, akala ko napanaginipan kong may sumuntok sa akin. But then, naalinpungatan ako. Parang nakita ko siyang nakatingin sa akin tapos sinuntok n’ya ako,” she shared, narrating that one incident out of the numerous that happened.
These incidents she suffered led her to write to the Bureau of Immigration to cancel her husband’s visa and put him on the blacklist.
Following the allegations, her husband, through the program Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, strongly denied what he was accused of. In an email sent by his legal counsel, her statements have no legal basis, as it was even junked by the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office due to a lack of evidence to support her claims.
Atty. Jecko G. Bello said, “Ms. Melanie has always been engaged in ostentatiously accusing Mr. Lawyer of abuse, but all of which were found to be baseless or unfounded by the proper forum. This is nothing but an act of harassment suffered by our client; an act of defamation on the part of Ms. Melanie.”
The case she referred to in the interview also never proceeded to the court of law.
Speaking about the latest course of action she took, they described it as “nothing short of malicious harassment” that inflicted “severe reputational damage, emotional distress, and professional harm” on Lawyer.
Melanie married Randy in 2000. They have two children: Abraham and Adam.
