Last December 2025, during the ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2025, many people were shocked when ABS-CBN Primetime King Coco Martin kissed his longtime partner, Julia Montes, on the lips in front of many people. To recall, it’s been just a few years since they finally confirmed their relationship. In real life, they have been together for over a decade.
Martin was 41, and Montes was 28 when they confirmed their relationship.
The kiss became huge online and made headlines. Recently, in an interview, Montes reacted, and according to her, she was also surprised by the gesture. The moment truly caught her off guard, and until now, the memory of that still amuses her.
She shared that it was just supposed to be a light and simple performance. Prior to the performance, they both agreed to just enjoy the moment, but something unexpected happened.
“Ang ine-expect ko lang —ang usapan kasi namin— ‘oh enjoy lang tayo ha’ kasi alam niyang nahihiya ako. So sabi niya lang sakin ‘basta enjoy lang tayo’ sabi ko ‘okay’,” she shared. The kiss was never a part of the plan.
“Nung kiniss niya ako hindi ko rin in-expect. Parang sumagot lang ako tapos na-realize ko ‘ay nasa stage tayo’,” she added, but recalling the moment, it was a reflection of their happiness that they also want to share with the people.
Meanwhile, Coco officially confirmed his romance with Julia in May 2023, surprising fans when he revealed they had already been together for 12 years. In an interview last October, Julia sweetly described their love story as straight out of a fairytale.
