Grade 12 Student Stands His Ground During Traffic Stop Over Loud Muffler
A male Grade 12 student argued with the police officer who stopped him because the officer did not use a decibel meter to measure the noise of his motorcycle muffler.
Recently, Rikki Roncesvalles, a Facebook user, shared a video of the student arguing with the police officer who apprehended him for allegedly not following proper standard operating procedures during the traffic stop.
The post quickly went viral on social media and received various reactions online.

The student questioned the basis of the violation, explaining that the noise from a motorcycle muffler should be measured using a decibel meter. He pointed out that without this device, there was no clear proof that his motorcycle exceeded the allowed noise limit.
According to him, he had already checked the sound level himself, which registered at 95 decibels, a level he believed was still within the standards set by the Land Transportation Office.
The police officer, however, insisted that using a decibel meter was no longer necessary and that a muffler could be considered a violation simply if it sounded loud. The student remained respectful but firm, explaining that proper rules and standard procedures exist to protect both motorists and enforcers.
The motorist emphasized that following these steps helps avoid misunderstandings and ensures fair treatment for everyone on the road.
As the conversation continued, the officer suggested that the issue could be contested instead. The student explained that doing so would be inconvenient and time-consuming, especially since he believed the apprehension was not done properly.
After some time, the officer decided not to issue a ticket and instead advised the student to return his motorcycle to its original muffler.
