Netizens talked about the Noche Buena of Gloria Diaz with her family
Veteran actress Gloria Diaz had a video showing their abundant noche buena, and this received criticism from netizens.
After becoming the first Pinay Miss Universe in 1969, Gloria’s acting career flourished. She did various movies and teleseryes. Now, she is one of the well-respected veteran actresses and is admired for her grace and poise, despite her age, aside from her caliber in acting.
However, while promoting their movie Rekonek, as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025, Gloria received criticism for her answer when asked about the P500 budget for Noche Buena.
To recall, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Crisitina Roque stated that P500 is enough for a Filipino family’s meal on the 25th of December. She insisted that, considering a four-member family, this would be enough.
Many Pinoys contradicted her, and several celebrities also stressed on social media that this would not be enough. When the cast of Rekonek was asked about their opinion on this, the other agreed with many people, saying that P500 would not be enough.
However, Gloria Diaz’s view was different. She said that this would be enough and mentioned that Sec. Roque is her friend, and the latter showed her options for the items that people can buy with this amount. She even cited examples of food that people can buy. The former beauty queen was criticized because of what she said.
After the Noche Buena, a video of Gloria eating with her family circulated online. A netizen shared this on Reddit. “Noche Buena ni Gloria Diaz. Nasaan ang corned beef? fruit salad? pineapple juice na dinagdagan ng maraming yelo? at ang pansit?” the post stated.
