Anne Curtis Compares Singapore & the Philippines, Calls Out Corruption in Powerful Post

After Visiting Singapore, Anne Curtis Shares Painful Truth About the Philippines

ANNE CURTIS – TV host and actress Anne Curtis did not hold back as she compared Singapore’s strict anti-corruption system with the situation in her home country.

Anne Curtis recently offered a strong and heartfelt take on the condition of the Philippines, focusing on the persistent problem of corruption, following her trip to Singapore. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Anne candidly shared her admiration for Singapore’s leadership and firm implementation of anti-corruption measures, while expressing disappointment over the situation back home.

“Random thought whilst in Singapore – NAKAKAINGGIT SILA,” Anne wrote, immediately signaling the tone of her reflections. She noted that after reading about Singapore’s past, she discovered that the country had also once been plagued by corruption until former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew took office and enforced a strict zero-tolerance stance against corrupt officials.

“Cut to this day, Singapore is thriving. A beautifully developed city, smooth roads, a gorgeous airport , proper public transportation, stunning infrastructure and yet I still see green around the city. Although, after reading, the temptation of greed from officials are still there BUT once they are caught they are punished immediately,” she said, pointing out how decisive leadership and accountability have contributed to the nation’s progress.

Her praise for Singapore eventually gave way to disappointment and worry for the Philippines. Anne posed emotional questions about the country’s direction, revealing both her frustration and her hope for change.

“Paano na tayo Pilipinas? Ano na kaya mangyayari? I pray so hard we will all collectively vote for a leader who will want to fight corruption one day. Sana talaga. Sayang…Pilipinas. We have beautiful mountains, the best beaches and islands in the world (for me),” she wrote.

Anne grew increasingly emotional as she reflected on how corruption continues to block the country from reaching its full potential.

“GREED has stolen the opportunity for this country to reach its FULL beautiful potential. Sana.. Sana talaga one day. Maybe not in my lifetime but I pray for all the future Filipinos. But we have to stand up for that now. Haaaaay. Naiiyak ako,” she added.

She also responded to a netizen’s post regarding the 2026 budget discussions, specifically addressing concerns that funds intended for healthcare are allegedly diverted through politicians.

“Dami pala pera ng Pilipinas noh? But all the budget that should have been towards healthcare or education eh napunta sa luxury cars, houses and I’m sure that money is in offshore accounts now,” Anne said.

“So sad that we will never be able to get that money back. So sad that it will never be used for the better of the people noh?” she continued.

Numerous fans and netizens agreed with Anne’s views, sharing similar frustrations about corruption and commending her for speaking out on issues that have a profound impact on the country.
