During Press Briefing, Malacañang Asked about Possible Impeachment Case vs. VP Sara Duterte
Malacañang reiterates the previous remarks of President Bongbong Marcos when asked about the possible impeachment case versus Vice President Sara Duterte.
The impeachment complaint filed against Vice Pres. Duterte was archived by the Senate. The decision came after the Supreme Court released its ruling that the impeachment complaint is unconstitutional.

According to the high court, the impeachment complaint against the Vice President did not abide by the one year ban rule. The judges ruled that a fresh impeachment complaint may only be filed against the Vice President after February 5.
Amid the calls to start the impeachment trial, the Senate archived the impeachment case versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Nineteen senators voted in favor of the motion to archive the impeachment case while only four (4) senators including then-Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto opposed the motion.

Now-Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson said that he and Senate Pres. Tito Sotto will revive the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte if the SC changes its ruling. The decision of the chamber earned different reactions.
Recently, Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) chairperson Teddy Casiño confirmed the possibility that they might file a fresh impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte next year.
“Isang pinaghahandaan ’yung pagtatapos ng one-year ban sa February. Most likely magfa-file po tayo ng impeachment ulit. Kasi bitin ’yung nangyari, hindi natuloy sa trial,” the BAYAN chairperson said.
However, Teddy Casiño claimed that the Supreme Court added several rules in the filing of an impeachment complaint, thus, they still need to study it. Recently, Malacañang was asked about Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the possibility of a fresh impeachment complaint being filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Based on a post of News5 on social media, Malacañang press officer Atty. Claire Castro claimed that the possible impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is not an issue for Pres. Bongbong Marcos now. Previously, the Palace reiterated multiple times that the Chief Executive has no role over the matter.
“Sa ngayon hindi pa isyu sa Pangulo ang impeachment laban kay VP Sara,” Castro said.

Based on the post, Usec. Claire Castro also recalled the previous remarks of Marcos Jr. The Malacañang official stressed that there’s no exemption on accountability.
“Pero sinabi niya noon pa, kung dapat managot, dapat panagutin. Wala dapat sini-sino,” the Malacañang press official said.
Previously, following the remarks of the BAYAN chairman, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reacted to the possible filing of a fresh impeachment complaint against her.
