Marcos Jr. Warns Sarah Discaya Arrest Warrant Out This Week
SARAH DISCAYA – The controversial contractor reportedly ‘surrendered’ to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ahead of the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya are undeniably the most popular and controversial contractors tagged in the flood control mess. After one of their companies was included in the list of construction firms flagged by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., video clips of their past interviews flaunting their lavish lifestyle circulated on social media.
The Discayas were interviewded by Julius Babao and Korina Sanchez. It was through those interviews that the public knew about their multiple luxury cars. Amid the flood control mess, some of the luxury cars of the Discayas were taken by the government for the auction.
Thirteen of the luxury cars owned by Curlee and Sarah Discaya were initially reported to be auctioned and the proceeds will be returned to the public coffers. However, a few weeks from the set auction date, the Bureau of Customs announced that only 7 will be auctioned.
During a Senate flood control hearing, Sarah Discaya admitted to owning 9 construction companies. She also confirmed that there were instances when her construction firms bid against each other for the same project offered by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Previously, amid the ongoing investigation of the flood control issue led by the Independet Commission for Infrastucture or ICI, Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced the looming arrest of Sarah Discaya. According to the President, he has already instructed the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to track her whereabouts.
Recently, through another update about the flood control probe, Pres. Bongbong Marcos announced that the arrest warrant versus Discaya will be out this week due to a supposed P100-billion flood control project that was allegedly not built. His announcement came with an announcement that the Court of Appeals has already frozen several assets and properties possibly linked to anomalies.
Recently, based on a post of News5 on social media, the lawyer of Sarah Discaya confirmed that she reportedly ‘surrendered’ to the National Bureau of Investigation or NBI ahead of the issuance of an arrest warrant against her. Atty. Cornelio Samaniego III claimed that his client voluntarily surrendred to the authorities.
The reported ‘surrender’ of Discaya came after her lawyer’s previous remarks that she is not hiding. Based on a post, she is willing to surrender most especially if there is an arrest warrant.
Several politicians were tagged in the flood control mess. One of them is former Senator Bong Revilla who denied his supposed involvement in the flood control corruption.
