Acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte Issues Warning to Drug Pushers
BASTE DUTERTE – The acting Mayor of Davao City issued a warning to the drug pushers that he will make them pay when the time comes.
The rampant illegal drug use in the Philippines is one of the major problems in the country. During the tenure of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, his administration campaigned against illegal drugs. However, it became a controversial campaign as it was linked to deaths of some Filipinos.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is currently under the custody of the ICC (International Criminal Court) and awaits the decision of the court over his interim release plea. The ICC is one of the foreign bodies that expressed interest in investigating the Duterte war on drugs amid the criticisms against the said campaign.
The former President won as mayor of Davao during the 2025 Midterm Elections. Due to his ICC detention, the acting mayor of the city is his son, Baste Duterte, who won as vice mayor.

Recently, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte spoke at the Pasko Fiesta Sa Davao. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the acting Davao Mayor issued a warning against the drug pushers.

In his speech, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte stressed that he will allegedly make the drug pushers pay for ruining the lives of other people. According to him, they are supposedly lucky now because it was the sister of the president herself who accused the President of allegedly being “bangag”.
“You pushers, the lives that you are ruining… I will make you pay when time comes. You’re just lucky now because according to the sister of the President, her brother is ‘bangag’,” the acting Davao Mayor said.

Based on the post, acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte reiterated multiple times that he will make the drug pushers pay. According to him, he is already listing their names now.
“I will make you pay, remember it. I’m already listing your names now… There will be a day of reckoning,” he said.
