Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Says Gov’t Officials Allegedly Cannot Refuse Drug Test
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reacted to the allegation of illegal drug use against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos.
Countless Filipinos were left shocked by the allegations that presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos threw against her brother during the rally organized by the members of the Iglesia ni Cristo. Sen. Imee Marcos accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of allegedly using illegal substance as she called for him to stop and undergo treatment.

According to Sen. Marcos, the President is allegedly using illegal drugs even when they were young and their father, the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was still around. She stressed that he was still not her responsibility then.
The Senator claimed that the alleged illegal drug use of her brother has supposedly affected his “wrong decisions” as the leader of the country. She called for him to stop and undergo treatment saying she can afford to see him losing the presidency but she cannot afford to lose him to drugs.

Sen. Imee Marcos also accused her sister-in-law, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, of alleged illegal drug use. She also called for the First Family to undergo a hair follicle drug test to disprove the allegations.

Malacañang immediately defended Pres. Bongbong Marcos from the allegation of supposed illegal drug use. According to palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro, the Senator allegedly wants her brother out for her so-called “Team Itim” — seemingly referring to the presidential sister’s alignment with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Sen. Imee Marcos supported the Dutertes amid the controversial arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands. The public also saw her closeness with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked amid the calls for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to undergo a drug test. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President claimed that government officials allegedly cannot decline requests for drug tests.
“Kapag president ka or vice president or any government official for that matter… hindi ka puwedeng humindi kapag sinasabihan ka na magpa-drug test ka,” Vice Pres. Duterte said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was asked if she believes that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is using illegal drugs. Based on the report, the Vice President echoed what she heard from the people who had been with Marcos Jr. and the First Lady.
“Lahat ng mga nakasama nila sa mga party nila nagsasabi na gumagamit sila ng droga,” she said.
Several government officials reacted to the accusations against the President. Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson reacted to the illegal drug use allegations of Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
