Press Officer of Malacañang Speaks Anew on Sen. Imee Marcos
Malacañang claimed that Senator Imee Marcos allegedly wants President Bongbong Marcos out for the “Team Itim”.
Countless Filipinos were shocked when presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos accused her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, of allegedly using illegal substance. She made the accusation in front of almost half a million people who joined the rally of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
According to Sen. Marcos, they were still young then when PBBM allegedly started using illegal drugs but he was still not her responsibility then as their father, the late former Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was still around. However, as they grew up, she became more concerned about the alleged vices of her brother.
The Senator called on the President to seek medical treatment. While she did not directly asked him to step down from the presidency, she asked him to go home and be treated. According to her, she can take him to lose the presidency but she cannot afford to lose him.
Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that the alleged use of illegal substance by Pres. Bongbong Marcos has supposedly contributed to his “wrong decisions”. While the Chief Executive remained silent over his sister’s allegations, Malacañang immediately stressed that Marcos Jr. tested negative in a drug test before he campaigned for the presidency.
“Ang pinag-uusapan sa peaceful rally ay patungkol sa diumanong korapsyon. Ano ang dahilan ni Senator Imee para ang sarili niyang kapatid ay siraan niya?” Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said.
The Palace official called the Senator’s claim as allegedly “baseless”. According to her, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte allegedly admitted to using illegal drugs but the Senator did not call him out then.
Recently, Atty. Claire Castro spoke anew on the accusations of Sen. Imee Marcos against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on GMA News, the Malacañang press official claimed that the Senator allegedly wants her brother out for her so-called “Team Itim”.
“Matanggal sa puwesto. Ano pa ba? Para i-angat ang kanyang ka-Team Itim. Yun lang naman yun e,” Castro said.
Based on the report, when asked if she is referring to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the Malacañang press official raised a question on who was Sen. Imee Marcos with in her “Team Itim” campaign ads. During the 2025 Midterm Elections campaign period, the Senator released a campaign ad with the Vice President.
“Sino ba yung nasa campaign ads nila na Team Itim? Kung sino man ang kasama niya sa Team Itim, yun na yun,” the Malacañang press official said.
Amid the accusations of the Senator against her brother, Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos slammed Sen. Imee Marcos for her accusations against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
