Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla claimed that Zaldy Co who was allegedly last seen in Japan cannot escape them.

Amid the flood control mess in the Philippines, resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co tagged President Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the alleged corruption. Co is one of the central figures in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption.

According to Co, Marcos Jr. allegedly ordered for a P100-billion budget insertion in the 2025 national budget and the order was supposedly confirmed by then-Speaker Romualdez, then-Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, and then-Budget Sec. Amenah Pangandaman. He also claimed that Marcos Jr. and Romualdez allegedly took all the P56 billion kickback.

Even prior to his claims, there are massive claims for the former House member to return to the country and face the accusations against him. However, he claimed that he is allegedly worried about his safety.

Zaldy Co claimed that former House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly threated to shoot him if he will speak. According to him, he was also supposedly told over the phone that he might be killed if he will return to the country.

Amid the claims of Zaldy Co, Ombudsman Boying Remulla stressed that the Philippine government is ready to provide protection to him if he decides to return to the country. According to Remulla, he needs the witnesses alive. Recently, he spoke about the former House member.

Based on a report on GMA News, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that former House member Zaldy Co was allegedly last seen in Japan. Currently, there is already an arrest warrant against Co after charges were filed against him.

“Hindi kami maiisahan dito. As long as we have the legal authority, kukunin namin siya,” the Ombudsman told dzBB Supre Radyo.

According to Remulla, there will be a red notice against Zaldy Co with the International Police or Interpol after charges have already been filed against him. Furthermore, based on the report, the Ombudsman also confirmed that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will also request the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to cancel his passport.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos gave a “report” about the flood control investigation in the Philippines. He announced that 18 individuals including Zaldy Co are now faced with arrest warrants. He also gave a message of assurance for the Filipino people.
