One of theĀ housemates of the āPinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0āĀ is Joaquin Arce.Ā He is the son of Neil Arce, which makes him the stepson of actress Angel Locsin. The actress is proud of her stepson and is supportive of his decision to join the show business industry.
In a previous article, Angel expressed how proud she is of her stepson, and appealed for more understanding of her stepson. She asked the public to understand Joaquin if he talks a bit loudly or can’t respond immediately because he is deaf in his right ear.
Recently, in an episode, Joaquin opened up about his hearing disability to Big Brother. It was on his 32nd day that he spoke about it, and according to him, he was born without hearing in his right ear. He never experienced having two ears that can completely hear.
But despite this, he has always looked at his life positively. Growing up, he never felt that he was someone who had special needs, and among the biggest reasons behind this perspective were his parents, who never made him feel a certain way.
“They enforced positivity na dahil dito unique ako. As a kid, inisip ko po siya na Ā super power ko siya. Superpowers are what make superheroes unique, that what makes them superheroes and not normal people,” heĀ said.
Despite his ability, he became a good listener. It has become his habit to always listen intently to hear clearly. His father, Neil Arce, has watched this episode, and in an Instagram post, he expressed just how proud he is of her son.
