Passenger Complains About Bus Driver & Conductor Chatting During Trip
A bus passenger complained about a driver and conductor who were chatting inside the public utility vehicle during the trip.
Recently, the Facebook page Peromingan Archives shared a screenshot of a passenger complaining about a driver and conductor who were chatting while the vehicle was on the road. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions online.
According to the post, the passenger felt bothered by the pair’s conversation during the trip and believed it was unprofessional and distracting. However, many bus travelers and drivers responded with a different point of view.

They explained that chatting between the driver and conductor is often a way to stay alert, especially during long trips. Some drivers shared that long hours on the road can cause highway hypnosis, a condition where a driver appears awake but their mind is already tired and drifting. Talking helps them fight off sleepiness and stay focused on the road.
Some bus operators in the past have reportedly encouraged drivers and conductors to talk during travel as a safety measure. It is said that certain companies even issued memorandums years ago instructing them to communicate to avoid drowsiness.
Many netizens who commented on the post agreed that staying awake and alert should be a priority for drivers, especially on long and late-night journeys where passengers trust them with their safety.
Others also pointed out that people are not always aware of what drivers go through while on the road. They face long hours, changing weather, heavy traffic, and the responsibility of keeping passengers safe.
Some shared that instead of judging the crew, passengers should be more understanding and considerate.

“A POST FROM AN INSENSITIVE PASSENGER
Lately may nakita tayo na post na nireklamo daw nya ang chatting between bus crews while driving.
We understand seniors, pwds but wala naman tayong naririnig na actual complaint of noise from bus crew chatting.
In an honest opinion, bus crews chatting during the trip is a SAFE way to travel.
May isang malaking bus company na naglabas ng memorandum way back in 2001 and duly signed by their president urging bus drivers and conductors to have conversations during travel to fight of sleepiness in long trips.
Hinde po biro ang maging isang bus driver, hinde nila ineexpress sa pasahero na inaantok din sila sa biyahe pero nilalabanan nila ito. Kape, music at especially chatting with conductors or fellow employees.
Sa pasahero na nag Anonymous Profile na nagpost nito. Please be more sensitive. Hinde po all the time tama ang pasahero. Pag kunin mo pa ang bagay na panglaban nila sa antok, delikado po yan sa biyahe.
If di ka satisfied sa public transport commute, please use a private vehicle.”
