Leni Robredo was asked about her political plans
Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo was asked if she wanted to run for President in the 2028 elections.
Robredo became the 14th Vice President of the Philippines from 2016 to 2022. For the 2022 elections, she ran for president with now-Senator Kiko Pangilinan as her running mate. They were both defeated by the tandem of President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte.
In the 2025 midterm elections, her “kababayans” in Naga City elected her as their mayor. When typhoon Uwan hit the country, Robredo received praise from the online community because she opened her office as a temporary evacuation center.

Just recently, journalist Dindo Balares visited Mayor Leni Robredo. He shared the conversation that he and his wife had with the former Vice President.
Dindo said to Robredo, “Mukha pong pabalik ang ihip ng hangin sa activities natin noong Presidential Election 2022.” Apparently, the Mayor did not hear Dindo, and so she made him repeat what he said.
The journalist repeated what he said and added the statement of former Bacolod Mayor and Congressman Monico Puentevella that he wanted to visit Leni Robredo to encourage her to run for president in the 2028 elections.

Then, the journalist shared that he kept on thinking about this, and it made sense. He said that the former Vice President has always been quiet, but what she says always makes sense.
Dindo also shared that investors have been visiting Naga since Robredo became the mayor. With this, he said that if good governance could not sprout from “Imperial Manila,” then it could start in Naga or elsewhere.
“Kung hindi kayang magsindi ng transformational leadership at pagbabago ang Malacañang, Senado, at House of Representatives, puwede itong gawin sa mga bayan at siyudad,” the journalist said.
