Imee Marcos Accuses PBBM Using Illegal Substance, Palace Reacts

Senator Imee Marcos on Monday accused her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

Speaking at the rally of the Iglesia Ni Cristo at the Quirino Grandstand, Senator Imee Marcos accused President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

“Ever since Bongbong and I were kids, the family already knew about him,” Senator Imee Marcos said, as she accused her brother, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and their children of using drugs.

The senator said this before the people at the Iglesia ni Cristo rally, with around half a million in attendance in Manila on Monday evening, November 17.

“Back then, because our father was still around, he wasn’t my responsibility yet. As he grew older, it became more concerning. I knew that he was using drugs,” she said. She added that it has gotten worse when he married First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, who also does the same thing.

“Hinihingi ko na tayo ay umuwi na. Mamahinga. Alang-alang sa iyong kalusugan. Kaya kong mabigo at mawala sa ’yo ang posisyon pero hindi ko kayang mawala ka sa amin. Ayusin mo ang sarili mo. Magpagamot. Alisin ang droga sa iyong sistema.”

Palace Press Officer and Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro released a statement. The Palace called the accusations a desperate move. Castro questioned Imee’s intention in making this declaration on something that has been resolved through negative drug test results in the past.

The move was made just to smear the reputation of the president and his wife, and divert from the investigations into massive corruption, which, she noted, “are now moving forward and could implicate her allies in the Senate.”

Castro then went on asking if she was not pleased that her own brother was the one who initiated the investigation into the anomalous flood control projects. She asked the senator to stop attacking her brother, stressing that the real issue now is corruption and the need to make them accountable.

“Huwag mong sirain ang kapatid mo. Hindi ito ang issue ngayon. Matagal nang issue ‘to pero since wala kayong makita sa Pangulo na anumang issue ng korapsyon, kung saan saan n’yo dinadala ang issue. Nakakahiya, Senator Imee. Nakakahiya,” the Palace official furthered.
