Amid the hospitalization, there have been several Facebook posts falsely claiming that he had passed away. Ramon Tulfo clarified Enrile is still alive and revealed that a document retrieved from the Aglipayan church in Cagayan showed that he was actually born on June 22, 1922. This makes his age 103.

In an update from his daughter, Enrile is still in the ICU and is receiving the best treatment. He is being treated for pneumonia, and in the statement, she said, “We are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers, and support extended to our family during this time. Thank you very much.”

Katrina Ponce Enrile expressed how thankful their family is to the people who reached out to them in praying for the former Senate president.

Meanwhile, speaking in “The Spokes” of Bilyonaryo News Channel, former Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan revealed that Enrile wished to go home. He accordingly wanted to spend his remaining days in his home. He doesn’t want to die in the hospital.

“Ang pagkaalam kasi namin… he was practically begging to go back home. Sabi niya, ‘I don’t want to pass away in a hospital,” Honasan shared.

Enrile’s last public appearance was on October 24, during his acquittal from plunder and graft charges. He attended the Sandiganbayan proceedings virtually, appearing weak and bedridden, with a tube inserted in his nostril.

Enrile has been on leave from his official duties since October.
