DPWH Engineer In Sorsogon Allegedly Ended His Life

A report surfaced about a DPWH engineer in Sorsogon

Atty. Jesus Falcis shared a post from a journalist/reporter saying that a DPWH Engineer in Sorsogon ended his life.

The Department of Public Works and Highways has been under fire for months now. It is because of the anomalous flood control projects that involved DPWH officials.

Some politicians were also named as alleged recipients of kickbacks from contractors. The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee initiated an investigation, and President Bongbong Marcos established the Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) through Executive Order No. 94, with the aim of investigating irregularities in flood control projects and all national government infrastructure works throughout the years.

In a recent Facebook post, Atty. Jesus Falcis shared a photo of Scenes of Crime Officers (SOCO), apparently investigating. This was followed by a screenshot of the FB post shared by reporter Joey Jigs saying that a DPWH engineer took his own life.

The reporter also said that the engineer was also a Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chairman.

In Falcis’s post, he included a photo of a document stating that the BAC Chairman in Sorsogon was Larry B. Reyes. Then, the lawyer shared a screenshot of a message, telling the reporter to take down his post. With this, Falcis asked, “This seems to be a matter of public interest if true — why would a DPWH Engineer and a BAC Chairman at that commit suic!de given the current events and context of the flood control scandal and investigations against high profile politicians?”

The lawyer also said that he hoped that traditional media outlets would confirm this because the one who told him about this was asking for help with the investigation and had media coverage.
