Romnick Sarmenta Says Marcos Jr. Not the Only One At Fault over Flood Control Issue: “Hangga’t may ganid, may mababaha”

Actor Romnick Sarmenta Speaks on Flood Control Issue Following Wrath of “Tino”

ROMNICK SARMENTA – The actor claimed that President Bongbong Marcos is allegedly not the only one at fault over the flood control projects issue.

Typhoon Tino has taken over 200 lives in the provinces of Cebu and Negros. Following his wrath, Luzon and Visayas were right away hit by another storm — super typhoon “Uwan” which has yet to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Prior to Uwan’s entry, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) proposed to Pres. Marcos to declare a state of national calamity.

Marcos Jr. declared a national state of calamity following the wrath of typhoon “Tino” and the expected entry of “Uwan”. It was already forecasted that Uwan has the capacity to become a super typhoon — which it did while it was bringing heavy rains and strong winds in Luzon.

Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. assured the Filipinos that the government agencies are under a “full alert” status. Undeniably, amid the recent massive flooding in the country after a series of calamities, countless opinions about the flood control issue has crossed the surface. Recently, actor Romnick Sarmenta defended the President.

According to Romnick Sarmenta, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is supposedly not the only one at fault over the flood control projects in the Philippines. He stressed that all corrupt officials in the government are involved in the issue and there are other factors that allegedly contribute to the massive flooding.

“Hindi lang si PBBM ang mali dito. It begins with greed. That would include ALL corrupt officials in every level,” the actor said.

Romnick Sarmenta claimed that the flood control structures are allegedly not enough if the other activities like mining and deforestation continues. According to him, the problem allegedly does not start and end with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“Deforestation. Mining. ‘Development for residential areas’ these are the reasons you need flood control. So the problem doesn’t begin and stop at DPWH projects. It begins with greed,” he expressed.

According to Romnick Sarmenta, it is allegedly a trigger for anger that the country face the same situations whenever a typhoon hits PH. He claimed that as long as there is a greedy person in the government, there will allegedly be flooding.

“Nakakagalit na tuwing may bagyo, pare-parehong eksena baha, pagkasira ng kabuhayan, at kawalan ng pananagutan. Hindi problema ang ulan. Ang problema, yung mga taong paulit-ulit niloloko ang sistema. Hangga’t may ganid, may mababaha,” Romnick said.

Typhoon Uwan is still within the PAR. Based on a report on GMA News, the typhoon is expected to exit the PAR by late Monday night or early Tuesday. It continued to weaken as it navigated farther over the West Philippine Sea.

After a series of calamities in the Philippines, Marcos Jr. previously ordered the government agencies to have simple Christmas and year-end celebrations.
