This is why Kim Chiu is finally doing this.
Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu reveals and explains why she finally decided to do fearless and provocative roles on screen.
For many years, people have watched actress Kim Chiu doing mostly conservative roles. It even took her several projects before agreeing to do kissing scenes. While she loved doing roles that seemed funny and quirky, as an actress who has to offer something new and show her growth, she needed to do something new.

In a previous article, Kim’s role in “The Alibi” is accordingly her most daring yet. “The Alibi” premiered on November 7 on Prime Video. This is co-directed by Onat Diaz, Jojo Saguin, and FM Reyes, and marks the fourth project of Chiu and Paulo Avelino after “Linlang,” the Philippine adaptation of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,” and the film “My Love Will Make You Disappear.”
Recently, before the press, she spoke about why she finally decided to accept this kind of role and justified her decision.
According to her, for the many years she has been in the industry, this is something new that she can offer to her viewers. She also feels like she’s already at the right age to do this. The actress is now 35, and showing a bit of her skin and fearlessness is something she wanted to do in her 30s.
Tracking down her journey, she wanted to put a distinction on every decade of her life in her career. On top of this, she also trusts Dreamscape and Avelino. She is confident and secure working with them.
A bit emotional, she quipped based on the video, “Medyo mahirap na gawin. Gusto ko lang magpakita ng bago at sa mga nagsasabing hindi ako marunong sa ganitong klaseng role, eto na yun. I want to prove all of them wrong.”
She wanted to prove her doubters wrong and even do more than they know.
