Comedienne Aiai Delas Alas shared that filing for the revocation of Gerald’s green card was her payback at him for hurting her.
Actress-comedienne Aiai Delas Alas proved early this year that her ex-husband, Gerald Sibayan has been cheating on her. She had been hearing about this even before, but only believed it until she got hold of the proof.
Initially, when Aiai confirmed her separation from Sibayan through an interview, she expressed that she would not request to revoke the United States green card of her ex-husband. However, after confirming his cheating, her wrath and pain got the best of her.
A green card, also known as a Permanent Resident Card, is a document issued by the U.S. government to an eligible individual to allow him or her permanent resident status. This allows people to live and work in the US indefinitely and provides a pathway to becoming US citizens.
Recently, in an interview on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, she had the petition for the green card of her ex-husband revoked after they separated. According to her, this is a part of her moving forward from this painful chapter of her life.
“Nung una, ayoko talaga gawin yun pero nung bandang huli naisip ko, parang ayoko naman maging santa or something kasi yun na lang ba yung, kahit panget, yung ganti ko para sa sarili na nasaktan ako,” she explained.
His green card was revoked at the same time she filed for divorce. The results of the divorce haven’t been released yet, but Gerald is now no longer under her petition for the residency card.
When asked if she has already moved on from the failed marriage, she admitted that she is still in the process. Once in a while, the pain would still knock on her door and show up uninvited, leaving her in tears. She’s not totally healed, but she believes that she is getting there.
“Ako ngayon ay at peace. Sabi ko nga, meron akong legacy of peace. Gusto mo lahat ng magiging pananaw mo sa buhay puro positive. Sabi nga pain was my teacher and healing is my revolution,” she expressed.
