According to the authorities, these assets of Zaldy Co have been flown out of the country.

The three aircraft linked to former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co have been flown out of the Philippines, according to CAAP.

Former Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co was tagged in the billions of pesos worth of anomalies in the flood control projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). According to witnesses, he received billions of money in cash. Amid the hearings and probes, the politician flew out of the country and resigned from his position in the House of Representatives.

According to reports, he traveled to the United States and, based on records from the US Customs and Border Protection, arrived in New York on August 26. The same records indicate that he left the city on September 13, though the agency’s website did not disclose his next destination.

As of this posting, his current location remains unknown.

Based on the recent reports, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed on Wednesday that three of Co’s air assets have been flown out of the country already.

“Two AgustaWestland helicopters are currently in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, having flown there on August 20 and September 11, respectively,” Caap said in a statement. His Gulfstream aircraft, on the other hand, has been in Singapore since August 16.

The aviation authority said, “It continues to closely monitor all registered air assets in accordance with the law.”

The aircraft were flown out of the country after Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon revealed that Co has PHP 4.7-billion worth of air assets, most of which were registered under various companies.

AgustaWestland AW139 is worth USD 16 million or PHP 939.8 million, and he owns two, while the Gulfstream 350 jet costs USD 36 million or PHP 2.113 billion. In total, these aircraft cost USD 74.650 million or approximately PHP 4.4 billion.
