On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, the local government of Tipo-Tipo declared the suspension of classes and government operations after members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) reportedly launched an attack in the area.
The local government of Tipo-Tipo released an advisory announcing the suspension of all classes and work in government offices until further notice. Residents were urged to remain cautious, stay indoors, and keep watch for updates from authorities.
The advisory also called on the public to pray for the safety and peace of their town.
According to Tipo-Tipo Municipal Mayor Ingatun G. Istarul, a tense standoff between the two sides was still ongoing as negotiations continued to prevent further violence. The mayor assured the public that the local government was in close coordination with national agencies to ensure the protection and safety of the residents.
