Amid the flood control issue in the Philippines, Pres. Bongbong Marcos appointed now Ombudsman Boying Remulla into the position. The country’s chief graft-buster vowed to speed up the legal process with regards to the flood control issue in the country.

Ombudsman Remulla has always been vocal about restitution for those who want to make a plea-bargaining. Recently, the country’s chief graft-buster claimed that a friend of his, a former congressman of Quezon City, is allegedly ready to make a “tell all” with regards to the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption.

Remulla claimed that the former Q.C. Congressman allegedly called him early today and told him about the offer. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the former lawmaker is supposedly ready to reveal his participation in the issue and the alleged system.

“Nakatanggap rin ako ng tawag kaninang umaga, very early in the morning, isang kaibigan ko… (dating) congressman from QC who wants to tell all… yung involvement niya sa anong nangyayari at kung paano ang kalakaran,” the Ombudsman said.

Based on the report, Remulla stressed that the offer of the former Q.C. Congressman to make a “tell all” came amid the office studying the possible restitution measures to recover the public funds that were corrupted. According to him, plea bargains may be allowed for individuals who will cooperate with the investigation.

“We are trying to lay down mechanics for restitution. May nagsabi sa akin na may mga congressman daw na gusto daw nilang manahimik at di na nila gagawin uli, mga contractors,” he expressed.

Amid the flood control issue in the country, Department of Education or DepEd chief Sonny Angara is disappointed over the DPWH having only built 22 classrooms for 2025.
