Elementary School in Davao del Sur Loses Speaker and 38 Tablets Due to Robbery

On Tuesday morning, October 21, 2025, the authorities in Davao del Sur are investigating a robbery that took place at Astorga Central Elementary School (ACES) in Sta. Cruz. The incident shocked teachers and students after learning that important classroom equipment had been stolen.
According to school officials, the suspects took one speaker and thirty-eight tablets issued by the Department of Education. These tablets were meant for students’ use in their studies, making the loss a serious setback for the school’s learning programs.

Police investigators confirmed that one of the suspects has already been identified and has admitted to the crime. The recovered items include the stolen speaker, but most of the tablets remain missing.
The suspect also revealed that he had accomplices who helped take the gadgets, which they intended to sell.
